Forrester, Inc., conducted a study which
showed that one-third of senior decision makers
at 145 firms now use offshore service providers,
with 88 percent rating their providers as a
better value for the money than U.S. service
providers. In addition, respondents rated the
quality and turnaround time of off-shore
companies as being superior to those of U.S.
competitors at between 71 and 67 percent. These
findings are not only significant, but
surprising. They reinforce the idea in marketing
that outsourcing clients “go for price but stay
for quality.”
Major advances in scanning technology and a
decrease in the cost of bandwidth, together with
increased bandwidth capacity, have contributed
to this scenario. A company can expect to save
from 50 to 75 percent by moving to an off-shore
